Occupational Therapy Antenatal groups
Our Occupational Therapy antenatal groups are designed to support mothers through pregnancy, birth preparation, and the transition into early motherhood. These small supportive groups focus on promoting maternal wellbeing, healthy routines, emotional support, infant care, and confidence in caring for your newborn. Sessions provide both practical education and an opportunity to connect with other mothers walking a similar journey. Topics covered throughout the 8-week programme include healthy sleep, fatigue management, support systems, bonding and Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC), lactation support, baby positioning, swaddling, bathing, preparing the home environment, and practical guidance for birth and bringing baby home.
Occupational therapy Maternal Health and Support
Our occupational therapy services in maternal health are designed to support women through the physical, emotional, and lifestyle transitions of pregnancy, postpartum, and early motherhood. We focus on helping you manage daily demands in a way that protects your energy, supports recovery, and promotes overall wellbeing. Intervention includes fatigue management and energy conservation strategies to help you navigate changing energy levels, as well as activity pacing and prioritisation to balance rest and daily responsibilities. We support the development of sustainable routines, including sleep hygiene and routine restructuring, to better align with the evolving needs of both mother and baby. Therapy also addresses the mental and emotional load of motherhood through stress management, time management strategies, and relaxation therapy. Our approach is practical, personalised, and centred on enabling you to engage in meaningful roles and activities with confidence, balance, and support.
Occupational Therapy and School Readiness services
Our occupational therapy services support children in developing the foundational skills needed for a successful transition into school, and provide ongoing support for those already attending school who may be experiencing challenges. We focus on key areas such as fine motor skills, pencil grasp, early writing, visual-motor integration, attention and concentration, sensory regulation, and independence in daily tasks. Gross motor development is also addressed to support posture, coordination, and overall classroom participation. Through play-based, structured activities, we build the skills and confidence needed for learning. We work closely with parents and teachers, providing practical recommendations for in-class activities and strategies that support each child’s engagement, participation, and success within the school environment.
Occupational Therapy Infant Development and Early Screening
Our occupational therapy services in infant development focus on early identification, support, and guidance during the most important years of growth. We work with infants and young children (0–5 years) to monitor development, support emerging skills, and partner closely with parents to create a strong foundation for future learning and participation. We offer developmental milestone screening to track your child’s progress across key areas such as movement, play, communication, and self-care. Where needed, we provide early intervention through play-based therapy that supports age-appropriate development in a natural, engaging way. Our services also include sensory regulation and integration support to help children better process and respond to their environment, as well as feeding and swallowing support for infants and young children experiencing difficulties with feeding. A core part of our approach is parent coaching and home programmes, empowering caregivers with practical strategies to support their child’s development in everyday routines. Our goal is to support each child to thrive within their environment, while giving parents the confidence, knowledge, and tools to nurture their child’s growth.
