A personalised session designed to help make your pumping journey more comfortable and effective. In this 30 minute session we will: • Assess your breast pump and ensure it is functioning optimally • Test the suction strength and speed settings to help mimic a baby feeding at the breast • Measure your nipple size to determine the correct flange fit • Discuss comfort, milk output and pumping goals • Provide guidance on pump settings, flange positioning and general pumping support A well-fitted flange and an effective pump can make a significant difference to comfort, milk removal and overall pumping success.

During this 90-minute session, our focus will be on thoroughly evaluating your newborn's mouth and ensuring a proper latch onto the breast. We will closely observe a breastfeeding session, offering guidance as needed. Additionally, we'll delve into discussions about the mother's diet during breastfeeding, addressing the potential need for supplements by mom or baby. The vaccinations administered individually from this stage encompass Chickenpox, Meningococcal, Pneumococcal, Hepatitis A, MMR, and a combination of DTaP, IPV, Hib, and Hep B. To ensure your baby stays on track with the childhood immunization schedule, we'll administer two vaccinations at a time, spaced approximately every three months. This carefully coordinated approach aims to have your baby fully up to date between the ages of 18 months and 2 years, providing comprehensive protection during this crucial developmental stage.

18 months is usually when we boost the immune system against Diptheria, Tetanus, Whooping Cough, Polio, Hep B and Haemophilus Influenzae type b - this is the 4th dose your baby will receive.

Vaccination against Hepatitis A only

At 6 years of age, we administer booster vaccinations against DTaP, Polio, and the combined vaccine for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (2 vaccinations).

The most common side effects are a mildly sore arm on the afternoon or the next day, occasionally accompanied by a slight headache and a temporary "off" feeling for a day or two post-vaccination. It's reassuring to note that children can typically resume their normal routine, including school attendance, on the day or the following day of vaccination.

Vaccinations against Human Papillomavirus (HPV) are initiated at the age of 9 years for both boys and girls. Gardasil 9, though pricier, offers protection against an additional 5 strains compared to Gardasil 4, enhancing the spectrum of immunity provided. This choice ensures a more robust defense against HPV-related health risks, underscoring the importance of comprehensive protection for individuals from an early age.
