Dr Nasief van der Schyff is a Specialist Physician and Medical Gastroenterologist with extensive clinical, academic and teaching experience. He practises at Groote Schuur Hospital and UCT Private Academic Hospital, and is a longstanding Senior Lecturer at the University of Cape Town (UCT). Dr van der Schyff offers in-person consultations at UCT Private Academic Hospital, as well as virtual consultations via Bookem. He performs outpatient gastroscopy and colonoscopy at Cure Day Hospital, Foreshore, Cape Town, and manages gastroenterology inpatients at UCT Private Academic Hospital. He is contracted to all major medical aid schemes. His practice encompasses the comprehensive assessment and management of a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, including gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcer disease, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and colorectal cancer screening. He has a particular clinical interest in inflammatory bowel disease and advanced therapeutic endoscopy, with a focus on providing evidence-based, patient-centred gastroenterological care.
